Operational Training – No24 Course, 51 OTU (RAF Cranfield)

On 20th July 1943, Broody flew his first flight with No 51 Operational Training Unit at RAF Cranfield (No1 Squadron). 51 OTU was a training unit for night fighter crews. Broody’s training this far had been in the Avro Anson, this first flight with 51 OTU was in a Bristol Beaufort.
